Half Dome – Deep Black and White

And another image from this past holiday visit to Mariposa and Yosemite. This one is a close-up of Half Dome taken from the Tunnel View (aka., Inspiration Point) as a color image, then post-processed in Adobe’s Lightroom into a black & white using a preset I picked up called “BLACK”.

Half Dome B&W

This image came from my recent trip to California to spend the holidays with my family. This was a color image that was converted to B&W in Adobe’s Lightroom 2.2, using a preset that desaturates the red channel and adds contrast. From there, I added some of my own touches and framing to produce what you see below.

See the Resolution of the Nikon D3X?

Check out this post from the infamous Moose Peterson as he talks and shows you a shot he just took up in Yellowstone National Park on a DLWS adventure. He shows a photo of a geyser basin with a pine tree in the lower front right. He then crops in to one of the branches on that pine tree and you can literally count the needles on the branch! See for yourself: MooseNewsBlog » feeling a little guilty.
