Thunderbirds Fly By to Honor Frontline Responders

In a surprising, yet touching event today, the Air Force Thunderbirds took off from Greeley, CO early on their way to fly over at the Air Force Academy’s graduation ceremony in Colorado Springs. But instead of flying directly to Colorado Springs, they took a lazy path over every hospital between Ft Collins and Colorado Springs to honor all the frontline nurses, doctors, EMTs etc. fighting and saving lives in this pandemic.

Social and local media outlets were told of this event and given a timeline and flight pattern a couple days ago. So I grabbed my sons today and headed to what turned out to be a perfect viewing location — just east of Good Samaritan Hospital off 120th St on the east side of Lafayette.

An hour later than the much publicized schedule, (the graduation ceremony was delayed by rain at the Air Force Academy) the Thunderbirds finally showed up and my selected location was perfect.
