The massive Cottonwood tree out on the island in Bald Eagle Pond, St Vrain State Park, was toppled sometime over this past year. Now all that remains is the bottom third. Very sad.
While we were camping there this past weekend, a juvenile Crane lighted on top of what’s left of the old tree, sunny and preening herself. This is a very tight crop of an image taken from about 250 yards away, hand-held with my Nikon 200-500 lens.

I was up taking senior photos this past Saturday and afterwards, I just had to walk around this beautiful park-like setting. And this is what I saw….. It just never gets old up at Chautauqua Park, Boulder, Colorado.

While going through images from a trip to Zion and Bryce National Parks back in May/June, I came across this black and white image I had worked on then but not posted to my site. Looking at it today, I am amazed I didn’t post it yet — it’s zonal shades of gray are stunning.
What do you think?
